We are pleased to announce that Avery Schott will be the next Parish Administrator for the Cathedral Church of St. Luke. An enthusiastic and experienced young professional with degrees in Music and Peace and Conflict Studies, and a background in working with special needs students in both private and public school settings and serving on the staff of both Episcopal and Methodist churches, Avery comes with a deep love of the church and an understanding of this work as a ministry.
His resume includes work supporting interfaith dialogue and assisting with a homeless person’s choir, as well as skills in web design, customer service, community engagement, contracting of community artists, analytical and critical thinking, and interpersonal communication.
He and his fiancé are members of St. Alban’s church in Cape Elizabeth, where he recently served as their interim choral director.
Avery will begin work at St. Luke’s on May 23. Lynne England will overlap with him that week, with her last day at St. Luke’s on Friday, May 27.
(Lynne will be taking some personal time earlier in the month, with coverage in the office by Claire Hammen.)
