Giving Thanks for an Inspiring Community

Ever since my first day at St. Luke’s, I have been inspired by the amount of work and dedication put forth by so many loving and passionate parishioners.

As a fellow episcopalian I cherish the ability for our church to be advocates and activists for change in our communities both close to home and around the world. St. Luke’s most certainly lives out this hope every day through the countless ministries that happen in and around the church.

While living in Indianapolis, Indiana during my college years, one of my close mentors encouraged me to view the church not just as a building where we gather for worship each week, but rather suggested that we act as living members of the church as we move throughout the world. St. Luke’s has the incredible ability to not only speak this truth, but also to embody it through the many parishioners and community members who call the cathedral home.

This being said, I would like to ask for help and support in return from the St. Luke’s community. I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts and ideas as to how the Cathedral can extend and grow its presence in the wider community. 

Please know that my door is always open to you and that I am happy to receive your feedback and input on how we can improve communications at the Cathedral.  I would also ask for your grace and understanding as I also evolve in this role.

While it is my hope that mistakes are as minimal as possible, they do unfortunately happen. If I have made one, please kindly ask me to make that change and I will be happy to do so. It is my firm belief that if we can work together in a respectful and kind manner, we can in turn support each other to the best of our abilities. 

Thank you for the opportunity to serve in this ministry for your community. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and look forward to taking steps forward with you.
