Youth Service Corps
Our Next Service Corp for Middle and High School is quickly approaching! We will be working to provide adult winter coats to St. Elizabeth’s Essential’s Pantry here in Portland (Home – St. Elizabeth’s Jubilee Center (stelizabethsmaine.org)). Once again we will have 1,000 dollars to support our efforts to make a difference! We will start up at 11:30am on November 20th and plan on wrapping up after shopping, delivering items, and sharing pizza at St. Luke’s by roughly 1:45pm
Each group will need adult chaperones and drivers as well as someone who is able to make a purchase (I can either reimburse you or get you funds in advance of the day). Each group will have roughly 333 dollars to spend and will be encouraged to search for adult size large and extra large coats. We will also keep our eyes out for winter boots.
We will then work our way to the 134 Park Street entrance of the Cathedral to meet up with Sarah Borgenson, the executive director of St. E’s and follow her directions on what to do with our items. We will also learn about St. E’s work with Asylum Seekers and those who are in need here in Portland. Then we will share Pizza and make some serious plans for our next few service corp events.
You all are making a real difference here in Portland. People are experiencing help and hope because of you! Thank you!
