St. Luke Cathedral Music

Music at St. Luke’s Cathedral

The splendid gothic architecture and the excellent acoustics of both the nave and the Emmanuel Chapel make them wonderfully hospitable venues for music.

Music is an important component of worship during Sunday services, Twilight in the Chapel (features instrumental music), Choral Evensong (every first Sunday), and Taizé (2nd and 4th Wednesdays).

Music in the Cathedral is St. Luke’s continuing series of musical events that serve both the Greater Portland community and the parish. The series includes concerts of early music held in the intimate Emmanuel Chapel and concerts featuring chamber music, choral music, solo vocal music, plus music for solo organ and solo piano.  Additionally, Saint Luke’s Cathedral hosts a number of excellent concerts by outside musical organizations, also a ministry to the Portland community.

Please check our website calendar for concerts and other music and theater offerings throughout the year.
