Preble Street Soup Kitchen

Saint Luke’s Soup Kitchen Team prepares and serves over 200 lunches every third Sunday of the month. The Soup Kitchen is located in the Preble Street Resource Center on Oxford Street. PSRC is responsible for the preparation and serving of 3 meals a day, 350 days a year. No person is turned away! This service is accomplished through volunteers from high schools, businesses, religious organizations and others who wish to help.

Our Saint Luke’s Soup Kitchen team begins work promptly at 10:00 am and is ready to serve our guests by noon. We have been serving the same menu for the past three years and it is very popular! Making Shepherd’s Pie, biscuits, and a big salad, in addition to preparing the dining room, readying beverages, and setting out desserts keep our team of 12-14 people busy and bustling throughout the morning. This two-hour window of preparation is an incredibly fun time, although it can be hot, demanding, and sometimes messy work!

If you are looking for a way to serve Christ in all people, think about joining our team at the weekend Soup Kitchen! We would love to have you help cook, serve, distribute beverages, or wash dishes. It’s a fun time of service and fellowship!
