Music at St. Luke's Cathedral

The splendid gothic architecture and the excellent acoustics of both the nave and the Emmanuel Chapel make them wonderfully hospitable venues for music.

Music is an important component of worship during Sunday services, Twilight in the Chapel (featured music every third Sunday), Choral Evensong (every first Sunday), Taizé (2nd and 4th Wednesdays), and the Contemplative Lectio (1st and 3rd Wednesdays).

Music in the Cathedral is St. Luke's continuing series of musical events that serve both the Greater Portland community and the parish. The series includes concerts of early music held in the intimate Emmanuel Chapel and concerts featuring chamber music, choral music, solo vocal music, plus music for solo organ and solo piano.  Additionally, Saint Luke’s Cathedral hosts a number of excellent concerts by outside musical organizations, also a ministry to the Portland community.

Please check our website calendar for concerts and other music and theatre offerings throughout the year.
