From either north or south of Portland take I-295 to Exit 6A.
Take a slight Right through Deering Oaks Park to State Street and follow it up the hill, after you pass Congress Street the Cathedral is at 143 State Street on your left.
With the exception of three parallel parking spaces along the parish hall marked volunteer, there is no parking during the week at the Cathedral.
Note that C spaces are reserved for Cathedral Staff, L spaces are reserved for Loring House Staff and M spaces are reserved for Mercy Hospital employees. These reservations are taken seriously and cars parked in these spots may be towed.
The circle in front of the Cathedral is open to visitors to Loring House and the Cathedral, as well as staff overflow, but as a general rule visitors should plan to park on the street.
On Sundays and on weekdays after 5 pm, the entire back lot is available for St. Luke’s parking.
The parking meters on State Street and the parking on Park Street are free on Sundays. There is an additional handicapped spot on the street.
The parking lot of the Cumberland Club (which fronts on High Street) is available every Sunday. We CANNOT park at the club on Easter Sunday and on Mother’s Day
Another parking option is the Holiday Inn parking lot, just past the inn on Spring Street. The lot is not used much on Sundays and the charge is $1.75 per hour.
A continuing reminder is that we can no longer park in the lot behind the building which houses Coffee By Design, across from us on Park Street. The owner of the building does tow on a regular basis.
The Cathedral of St Luke is accessible to everyone.
We want your visit to be as comfortable as possible.
All our entrances are handicap accessible.
Our main entrance on State Street has a direct entrance into the nave and chapel.
Our back entrance off of Park Street has direct entry to the lower level of the cathedral with elevator service to the main level.
Restrooms are accessible on both levels.
There is one handicap parking space at the State Street entrance and two near the Park Street entrance.
