Albert Melton’s 20th Anniversary: We appreciate contributions to the fund honoring Albert Melton’s 20th anniversary as Cathedral Musician. It makes sense to name a date to finish this process, so we are asking that you make your contribution no later than Sunday, July 30. As stated before, our goal is to raise $3,000 for the composer Alfred Fedak to compose a new setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis (evening canticles) for St. Luke’s in Albert’s honor. You may turn in your financial contribution directly to either of us, or to Lynne England in the church office. Thanks to those who have already given, and we look forward to hearing from more of you. This seems like a great way to mark the occasion in honor of Albert’s ministry among us.
Yours faithfully, George Cooper (Sr. Warden), The Rev. David Illingworth (for the choir)
The Explorers have uncovered evidence for the existence of the ‘motherload’. Weary, yet encouraged by the journey toward selfhood, the explorers have uncovered evidence for a superior source of all self-knowledge generation: the marriage relationship. In seeking one’s truer self the journey parallels John Bunyan’s struggle through the ‘ slough of despond’. How can something so ancient and so familiar pose such riddles and perplexities? Yet with sore backs and blistered hands,we dig up these these nuggets which promise new revelations for self-mirroring, for seeing one’s partner more clearly, and for the growth of one’s soul. We’re stopping at trail marker 5, and for rest at the Chapter Room, this Sunday. We meet from 8:45 til 9:45 am. All are welcome.
Healing Team: There will be no Team members scheduled through the four (4) Sundays in August or the first Sunday in Sept. We will return on Sunday, Sept. 10th.
