Announcements July 9, 2017

A Message from Dick Rasner: I just want to extend a big thank-you for all your kindnesses surrounding my leaving. Last Sunday’s service was just so special and the reception afterwards was personal and so meaningful for me. Good-byes are hard but your kind words, cards, and hugs make my leaving a little easier. I hope you will keep in touch with me. My new address is:  2457 Coveyrun South, Cincinnati, OH 45230. My e-mail will remain the same: Again, thank you for everything.

Albert Melton’s 20th Anniversary:  We appreciate contributions to the fund honoring  Albert Melton’s 20th anniversary as Cathedral Musician.  It makes sense to name a date to finish this process, so we are asking that you make your contribution no later than Sunday, July 30.  As stated before, our goal is to raise $3,000 for the composer Alfred Fedak to compose a new setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis  (evening canticles) for St. Luke’s in Albert’s honor.  You may turn in your financial contribution directly to either of us, or to Lynne England in the church office. Thanks to those who have already given, and we look forward to hearing from more of you.  This seems like a great way to mark the occasion in honor of Albert’s ministry among us.

Yours faithfully, George Cooper (Sr. Warden), The Rev. David Illingworth (for the choir)

The Explorers, ever anxious for larger challenges, are searching for responses to the questions “Why am I here?’ and “What is the meaning of my life?”  These searches are accompanied by reading James Hollis’ Finding Meaning in the Second Half, (we’re reading Chap.4,) and Paul Tillich’s The Shaking of the Foundations.  The Judao-Christian tradition poses both the questions, and supplies invitations to finding deeply satisfying answers.  Join us in this soul-evoking process.  We’re in the Chapter Room on Sunday mornings from 8:45 ’til 9:45.  Printed resources are available in the Chapter Room

Healing Team:  There will be no Team members scheduled through the four (4) Sundays in August or the first Sunday in Sept.  We will return on Sunday, Sept. 10th.

Please remember our kids in Duny, Haiti, who depend on your support for school lunches. Please donate your spare quarters (25c, or more, if possible). We thank you for your generous support!

Save the Date
